4-Star CB Yusuf Corker Commits To Kentucky Wildcats

Four-star cornerback Yusuf Corker committed to Kentucky on Monday, giving the Wildcats 22 total commits in the 2017 recruiting class.

It’s a jolly time for Mark Stoops’ Wildcats right about now, as they picked up their 22nd commit in the cycle on Monday.

Four-star recruit Yusuf Corker committed to Kentucky over Michigan State, South Carolina and Tennessee.

“One of the main reasons I picked Kentucky is that I just feel like I fit in with the players more there, like for instance when football is over with and you’re sitting in your dorm room by yourself or with teammates with nothing to do, am I happy that I still decided to come here or do I feel like I made a bad choice,” Corker told 247Sports. “Also, the relationship with the coaches and a place I see myself playing and being successful.”

The decision for Corker to choose the Wildcats comes less than a week after Kentucky landed 3-star defensive end Jordan Wright over the Florida Gators and about two weeks after the Wildcats added a commitment from 4-star defensive end Joshua Paschal.

With the addition of Corker, Kentucky now moves up to No. 27 in the 2017 recruiting class rankings with 1,858 total recruiting points.

At 6-foot, 185 lbs Corker has excellent ball skills and is coachable, the topmost of intangibles. He’s physical and can win one-on-one match-ups at the line of scrimmage because of that aggressive mentality.

With the speed at which he learns the game, Corker could be getting playing time early on in Lexington.
