The Alabama-LSU showdown in Baton Rouge on Saturday night may not have been pretty football to a lot of college football fans across the country, but it was a competitive and physical contest between two of the best teams in the nation’s top conference.

Meanwhile, Texas A&M and Florida suffered brutal blows to their College Football Playoff hopes, perhaps opening the door for Louisville to sneak in as a one-loss squad.

10. Western Michigan (9-0) – Broncos wide receiver Corey Davis caught 12 passes for a MAC-record 272 yards in a school-record 11th consecutive victory, as P.J. Fleck’s crew took home a 52-20 victory over Ball State.

9. LSU (5-3) – The Tigers were able to create some big defensive plays against top-ranked Alabama, but the offense could not capitalize in a 10-0 loss to the Crimson Tide.

8. Utah (7-2) – The Utes were off this weekend and are preparing to play at Arizona State on Thursday night.

7. Wisconsin (7-2) – Corey Clement ran for 106 yards and a touchdown, and Jazz Peavy scored on a 46-yard run to help the Badgers score a 21-7 win at Northwestern.

6. Ohio State (8-1) – Curtis Samuel had 178 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns, including a 75-yard scoring reception on the team’s first play of the second half, as the Buckeyes cruised to a dominating 62-3 win over Nebraska to give the Cornhuskers their most lopsided loss since 2004.

5. Louisville (8-1) – Heisman Trophy-leading quarterback Lamar Jackson ran for three touchdowns and threw for four more in three quarters to lead the Cardinals to a 52-7 victory over Boston College.

4. Washington (9-0) – John Ross had 208 receiving yards and three scores, and Dante Pettis caught three touchdown passes and threw another to lead the Huskies to their 12th straight win, a 66-27 victory over Cal.

3. Clemson (9-0) – Deshaun Watson threw for two touchdowns and ran for a third before leaving the Tigers’ 54-0 win over Syracuse with a bruised shoulder.

2. Michigan (9-0) – Wilton Speight finished with a career-high 362 yards after recording three touchdowns in the first half, helping the Wolverines build a big early lead in a 59-3 win over Maryland.

1. Alabama (9-0) – Nick Saban’s squad held LSU quarterback Danny Etling to 11-of-24 passing for 92 yards and an interception, and the Crimson Tide also sacked him five times in a 10-0 win over the Tigers.
