North Texas Football Schedule 2016: 5 Keys For The Mean Green

The 2016 North Texas football schedule has a huge problem with too many tough games and no breaks whatsoever in interdivisional play. Can there be any room for improvement?

5 Keys To The Schedule

– The new world of Mean Green football starts out with two winnable games at home against SMU and Bethune-Cookman, and one of the other non-conference games isn’t that bad going to Army. The fourth game outside of the conference? At Florida.
– The East games couldn’t possibly be worse facing Middle Tennessee, Marshall and going to WKU. Consider it a massive miracle if UNT pulls off an upset in any of those three games.
– The week off comes in the middle of the season on October 15th, and the Mean Green will need it going on the road for three games in the next four at Army, UTSA and WKU. To make it worse, the home oasis is against Louisiana Tech.
– If that wasn’t bad enough, the final two games come against Southern Miss and at UTEP. It’s going to be rough to pull off a win over the second half of the season.
– WATCH OUT FOR … the date at Army. UNT will probably be underdogs in every game but the layup against Bethune-Cookman and maybe the opener against SMU. The possible other winnable games are on the road at Army and UTSA – UNT has to find a way to win those.
