    1. C.J. Prosise ran for a 57-yard score and DeShone Kizer ran for a seven-yard touchdown for a 14-0 lead, but UMass wouldn’t go away in the first half. Marquis Young took off for an 83-yard touchdown run and Sekai Lindsay and Jamal Wilson each ran for one-yard scores to pull within one in the second quarter.

    2. The Irish took over with a C.J. Sanders punt return for a score and Prosise ran for a 16-yard touchdown on the way to 41 straight points. Josh Adams finished off the scoring with a 70-yard Josh Adams touchdown dash.

    3. UMass finally got back on the board with a 33-yard Shakur Nesmith touchdown catch in the final minutes.

    Notre Dame

    – DeShone Kizer completed 15-of-22 passes for 207 yards and twos cores with a pick, and he ran nine times for 42 yards and a touchdown.

    – C.J. Prosise ran 15 times for 149 yards and two scores, and Josh Adams ran 13 times for 133 yards and a score.

    – Rushing yards: Notre Dame 457, averaging nine yards per carry.

    Massachusetts

    – Blake Frohnapfel completed 20-of-40 passes for 233 yards and a score. Ross Cornis completed all eight of his passes for 69 yards and a score.

    – Marquis Young ran five times for 103 yards and a score.

    – UMass amassed 450 yards, but gave up 681.
