Notre Dame vs. Virginia Score, Recap & Analysis

Notre Dame vs. Virginia score, recap, analysis and reaction from the Week 2 game between the Fighting Irish and Cavaliers in Charlottesville.

    Notre Dame 34, Virginia 27

    1. Down one with time running out and starting QB Malik Zaire out with an ankle injury – taken off on a cart – DeShone Kizer found Will Fuller for a 39-yard touchdown with 12 seconds to play to pull out the minor miracle.
    2. Notre Dame was rolling, getting up 26-14 with Zaire finding Fuller for a 59-yard touchdown pass and with C.J. Prosise running for a 24-yard score, but everything changed when Zaire got hurt. Justin Yoon has struggled, and missed one, but he hit two field goals for the Irish in the first quarter.
    3. Virginia cranked it up a few notches and scored 13 straight points with Matt Johns and Albert Reid each running for short scores. Reid’s came with just under two minutes to play, but left too much time for the Irish to come back.
