Notre Dame vs. Wisconsin Live Stream, TV Info

Notre Dame vs. Wisconsin live stream and TV information for Friday’s Sweet 16 matchup.

The No. 6 seeded Notre Dame Fighting Irish will take on the No. 7 seeded Wisconsin Badgers in the first regional semifinal on Friday in Philadelphia.

The Fighting Irish (23-11) survived an upset bid from Stephen F. Austin Sunday, defeating the Lumberjacks 76-75 on a last second tip-in by Rex Pflueger. The Irish find themselves in the Sweet 16 in back-to-back years for the first time since tournament expansion in 1985. Notre Dame was held back by its turnovers (plus-six), but managed to fair better on the glass (plus-four) and shot 56.9 percent from the field.

The Badgers (22-12), like the Irish, had a flair for the dramatic, upsetting the No. 2 Xavier Musketeers 66-63 thanks to a buzzer-beating three-pointer by Bronson Koenig. The win marked the fifth trip to the Sweet 16 for Wisconsin in the last six years and brought the Badgers’ record in the tournament to 15-5 over that span. Wisconsin’s stat sheet wasn’t that impressive, but the Badgers finished the game plus-two on the glass and shot better from the field (42.4 percent).

Friday’s Sweet 16 matchup between Notre Dame and Wisconsin will be the 29th between the two programs, with the Irish holding an 18-10 advantage. The last time these two teams met was in 2010; this is their first matchup in the NCAA Tournament.

Prediction

Both teams have shown heart and have had a little bit of luck so far in this tournament, but it’ll take more than that to win this game. This one will be hard-fought, but behind Zach Auguste and Demetrius Jackson, the Irish’s athleticism will be the difference.
