Oklahoma vs. VCU Picks – NCAA Tournament Second Round

Oklahoma vs. VCU State picks for the NCAA Tournament’s second round game.

Oklahoma, as expected, has advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Waiting on the other end is VCU, who is hoping to advance past the second round for the first time since the 2012-13 season.

Lon Kruger’s Sooners hovered around the top of the AP rankings all season and finished with a 25-7 record to lock up a No. 2 seed — despite many believing they should have been a No. 1. Oklahoma was given a run for its money by No. 15-seed Cal State Bakersfield, but the Sooners topped the Roadrunners, 82-68.

Will Wade’s first season as head coach of the Rams went is still going fairly smoothly. Slotted as a No. 10 seed in the tourney, VCU gave No. 7-seeded Oregon State an early exit, 75-67.

Here’s a look at the Campus Insiders Oklahoma vs. VCU picks.

Ray Crawford

The Sooners can’t afford a slow start like they had in their first game, but Buddy Hield and OU will stop VCU.

Shae Peppler

Ugh. This is a tough one. I love VCU, and I am convinced this team and Wichita State are doing better this year because there isn’t as much pressure with lower seeding. However, Buddy Hield is the best player in this tournament, and he has the ability to go off — even against that VCU defense.

Jordan Cornette

Oklahoma will take care of the basketball, knock down shots from downtown, and Buddy Hield will go off for another star-level performance.

Pete Fiutak

Had Oklahoma -14.5 … I hate life. VCU has the aggressiveness, but I’m not jumping over my Oklahoma Final Four pick now. Buddy Hield is on. The Sooners are playing smart and consistent – Sooners roll on.

Robert Judin

Will Wade has done a great job with the Rams this year, but Oklahoma has too much talent and the best player on the floor. Buddy will be Buddy and go off for 25-plus to earn the win.
