On Saturday night in East Lansing, Michigan, Spartan Stadium will host the first top 10 matchup of the season when No. 5 Michigan State welcomes No. 7 Oregon to town. 

The winner will move a step closer to the second edition of the College Football Playoff, while the loser will likely need outside help to climb back into the picture.

Last season the Spartans traveled to Eugene where they were handed a lopsided, 46-27 loss by the Ducks. Michigan State took a 24-18 lead into halftime, but had its doors blown off in the second half, scoring just three points to Oregon’s 28.

Not only does Sparty want this win badly, but the Big Ten could use it in the worst kind of way after a very subpar opening weekend. Can Michigan State exact revenge with the national spotlight shining down on the program? Or will Oregon continue to fly high?
