Get ready to see some pushups. Mark Helfrich is ready for anything and everything Bronco Mendenhall can throw out there defensively, and Oregon is going to stomp on the Cavaliers. For the second straight game, Dakota Prukop will throw three touchdown passes, and the Ducks are going to cruise to a double-digit win. Oh, and that Royce Freeman guy is kind of good, too. Maybe they’ll give him the ball a few times if they get bored.

If Thomas Jefferson was still alive – and knew what college football is – he would not have liked the opening game of the Bronco Mendenhall era at the school he founded. Jefferson wouldn’t enjoy this one against Oregon, either. Ducks quarterback Dakota Prukop fits well into the high tempo offense that Mark Helfrich loves to run. This one is over … early. Ducks quack.

The Ducks will be facing a wounded Virginia squad that really has nothing to lose following a 37-20 loss to FCS Richmond. The best way to erase such a defeat would be to steal a road night game at Autzen Stadium. It may not be a 59-10 Oregon victory like it was a few years ago, but the Ducks should roll. Hoos quarterback Kurt Benkert, who had three passing touchdowns in the opener, will find some room to throw. But the Ducks will overwhelm on offense.

    Jeff Bartl

Virginia’s loss to Richmond last week was embarrassing. It’s not going to feel very good on the plane ride home from Eugene, either. Dakota Prukop is exactly the type of quarterback Oregon coach Mike Helfrich needs for his system, and Royce Freeman is one of the better running backs in the Pac-12, if not the country. Both have big days as the Ducks rout the Cavaliers.
