A number of schools have been hard after P.J. Washington, a 6-foot-7, 220-pound power forward out of Henderson (Nevada) Findlay Prep. He’s a five-star big man and the No. 14 overall recruit in the class of 2017.
Only eight schools remain in the running for his services so far, and only four of those programs will welcome him to their campus. Washington’s road trip will begin the weekend of September 17th with a visit to Kentucky, followed up the very next weekend with a trip to North Carolina.
He’ll take some time off the road from there before heading to Arizona on the weekend of October 22nd. His road trip will wrap up in Austin, Texas when he visits Shaka Smart and the Longhorns the following weekend.
Washington has already taken unofficial visits to all four of these schools.
Along with those four programs, the likes of Kansas, NC State, UCLA and UNLV remain in Washington’s top eight schools.
Washington is an athletic forward with an impressive wingspan. He’s an absolute monster in the paint, constantly fighting for rebounds and hustling for loose balls. He uses his athleticism and high motor to be a difference-maker on the defensive end.
Though he’s still developing a three-point shot, Washington has a solid mid-range game. He’s got a nice touch around the rim and can drain hook shots, allowing him to be effective with his back to the basket.
