Pac-12 football predictions and schedule for Week 12 of the 2016 season. USC’s upset of Washington knocked the Pac-12 out of  a playoff, but there is still plenty to play for amongst the conference’s six ranked teams.

After being left out of the playoff in 2015, it seems that the Pac-12 will once again be on the outside looking in when all the dust settles and the 2016 playoff teams are finalized. Washington’s loss to USC in Week 11 dropped the Huskies down to No. 6 in the lastest CFP rankings, and Chris Petersen’s team will need outside help if it wants to jump the likes of Louisville and Clemson to get back into the Top 4.

Despite potentially missing out on the playoff again, the latest rankings reflect the fact that this is perhaps the most successful season the conference has had in a while. The Pac-12 is tied with the SEC with six teams ranked in the latest CFP Top-25 rankings, including four in the top-15. Those teams will be on full display in Week 12, no more so than in Boulder where Colorado takes on Washington State.

Both the Buffaloes and Cougars control their own destiny in the Pac-12 South and North, repsectively. The game holds extra importance for the Buffaloes who—with a No. 10 ranking—have an outside chance of sneaking into the playoffs. A loss for Colorado would also take it out of the driver’s seat in the division, while Wazzu could still win the North, even with a loss, by beating Washington in The Apple Cup.

In Los Angeles, USC will look to build on the momentum from its win in Seattle last week when it takes on rival UCLA. The Bruins are coming off their first win since Josh Rosen went down with injury, beating Oregon State last week. A win for the Trojans would put the pressure on the Buffaloes, as USC owns the tie-breaker over Colorado by virtue of a Week 6 win over the Buffs.
