Since the inception of the Pac-12 Championship Game in 2011, four times teams who met in the regular season squared off again for the title. Three of those times, the team that won the regular season matchup was victorious again in the title game clash.

If that holds true to form this year, Saturday’s meeting between undefeated Washington (the North division leader) and one-loss Utah (the South division leader) could serve as a predictor for who makes it to this year’s Rose Bowl. The Utes have only ever beaten the Huskies once in program history, although that win came last year in Seattle. Washington will not only have revenge on their mind, but the idea that every win gets them closer to a potential playoff birth.

In-state rival Washington State—Washington’s biggest challenger in the Pac-12 North—will look to continue its undefeated run in Pac-12 play when they head on the road to Corvallis to take on Oregon State. The Cougars feasted on the Beavers last season in Pullman, putting up 52 points and winning by three TDs. Washington will be favored to win all of their remaining game heading into the showdown for the Apple Cup in Pullman Week 13, so the Cougars will likely have to do the same if they want a chance at winning the division.
