Pac-12 Football Rankings – Week 13

Pac-12 football rankings heading into Week 13 of the 2016 season. Washington bounces back while USC and Colorado make statements.

Washington’s loss to USC put a dent in its College Football Playoff hopes, but it didn’t show any signs of dwelling on it this week. The Huskies dominated Arizona State, 44-18, to get back on track ahead of the upcoming Apple Cup showdown with Washington State.

The Cougars didn’t live up to their end of the bargain, though, falling to Colorado, 38-24. The Buffaloes remain ahead of USC in the Pac-12 South and can clinch the division with a win over Utah.

Now that the dust has settled, here’s a look at the rest of the Pac-12 heading into Week 13.

Week 13 Pac-12 Football Rankings

12. Arizona (Last Week – 12)

Rich Rodriguez might be coaching his last game as the Wildcats’ coach this week. They were crushed by Oregon State, 42-17.

11. Oregon State (11)

The Beavers had lost five in a row, but they got a break by facing a team struggling worse than them. Only the rivalry matchup with Oregon remains.

10. Arizona State (9)

Make it five losses in a row for the Sun Devils after losing to Washington. Not many people outside of the state will be watching when they face Arizona next week.

9. Oregon (10)

The Ducks made the biggest splash in the conference of the weekend, upsetting Utah, 30-28, on a last-second touchdown. Will it be enough to save Mark Helfrich’s job?

8. California (8)

The Golden Bears seemed to have some promise earlier in the season, but their current four-game losing streak has derailed their bowl chances. They’re coming off a 45-31 loss to Stanford.

7. UCLA (7)

UCLA was looking good through a quarter and a half against USC, then fell apart. There won’t be any bowl game for the Bruins this season.

6. Utah (3)

The shocking loss to Oregon dropped the Utes to 5-3 in the conference, effectively ending their slim hopes of winning the South.

5. Stanford (6)

Where would the Cardinal be now without that mid-season stumble? Christian McCaffrey ran for 284 yards and three touchdowns against Cal.

4. Washington State (4)

The Cougars became the last Pac-12 team to lose a conference game after falling to the Buffaloes. Still, their rebound from an 0-2 start has been impressive, and they can win the North by beating Washington this week.

3. Colorado (5)

The Buffs need to beat the Utes to clinch the South and earn a date with Washington or Washington State in the Pac-12 title game.

2. USC (2)

It’s tough to believe the Trojans were once 1-3. They’re shooting up the College Football Playoff rankings and could receive a major bowl bid, especially if Colorado loses to Utah, sending USC to the Pac-12 title game.

1. Washington (1)

The Huskies still have a solid shot to reach the College Football Playoff with a win over Washington State and another in the conference championship game.
