Pitt 24, Akron 7 In Three Things

1. In awful conditions, Pitt made up for last year’s loss to Akron with Nathan Peterman finding J.P. Holtz for an 18-yard touchdown in the second for a 10-7 lead. The D took care of the rest.

2. Qadree Ollison ran for a two-yard touchdown and Darrin Hall ran for a five-yard touchdown as part of a run of 21 unanswered Panther points.

3. Akron held a 7-3 lead in the first half after a 32-yard Conor Hundley run, but the offense fell flat the rest of the way.

Pitt

– Nathan Peterman completed 12-of-17 passes for 148 yards and as score

– Qadree Ollison ran 21 times for 81 yards and a score, Tyler Boyd caught 11 passes for 95 yards

– Pitt controlled the clock for well over 37 minutes. The defense couldn’t get off the field.

Akron

– Kyle Pohl completed 3-of-8 passes for 34 yards, and Tra’Von Chapman completed 4-of-14 passes for 29 yards

– Conor Hundley ran 11 times for 59 yards and a score

– The Zips only came up with eight first downs and 110 total yards
