September 18, 2016AP Top 25 college football rankings heading into Week 4 of the season have Louisville making a huge jump, FSU taking a significant tumble and Notre Dame dropping out.
Alabama remains on top of the poll after rallying from a 21-point deficit to stun Ole Miss, but the Crimson Tide’s No. 1 ranking is far from unanimous.
Louisville’s 63-20 rout of Florida State helped it jump to No. 3 from No. 10 as it grabbed six first-place votes in the process. No.2-ranked Ohio State snagged four first-place votes and No. 4 Michigan got the other.
Texas A&M jumped to No. 10 from No. 17, and Michigan State also joined the top 10 at No. 8 after winning at Notre Dame. The Group of Five added another member to the poll with San Diego State debuting at No. 22. As for FSU, well, it tumbled all the way to No. 13.
North Dakota State, the five-time defending FCS champion, received plenty of votes after stunning then-No. 13 Iowa, which dropped out of the poll. Here are the full rankings heading into Week 4 of the 2016 college football season.
