Maybe in addition to my bowl projections each week, I need to start including “bowl name” projections since those are changing as frequently as well.

The bowl in Santa Clara, Calif., featuring Pac-12 and Big 10 teams was called the Foster Farms Bowl from 2014-17 and was renamed the San Francisco Bowl for this season. That was until last week, when it was renamed again: this time, the Redbox Bowl.

Which two teams am I projecting in the inaugural Redbox Bowl? Read on, but first this spoiler alert: Alabama and Georgia remain in my College Football Playoff field. I think both teams go 12-0 until they meet for the SEC title. If so, I think the selection committee puts both teams in.

Joining Alabama and Georgia will be Notre Dame and Clemson. I’m projecting both the Irish and Tigers to run the table and there’s no way the selection committee excludes an undefeated Power 5 team from the playoff. If my scenario happens, then the Big Ten, Big 12 and Pac-12 are left out of the playoff. I don’t think those leagues will have an undefeated champion, but good news for Big Ten, Big 12 and Pac-12 fans: I might be wrong.
