Florida Gators head coach Jim McElwain hinted on Twitter at possible alternate helmets being broken out for the game against Vanderbilt.
Update (11/4) – During a radio interview with 1010XL, Robbie Andreu of The Gainesville Sun mentioned that he’s “hearing” Florida’s helmets will be white.
Here’s a statement you might not have thought you’d hear for a while: Florida Gators football is fun again.
In what feels like the blink of an eye, Jim McElwain has changed the culture of the entire program, and it can be seen through more than Florida’s No. 11 ranking or the fact that the Gators are contending for an SEC Championship.
You can tell how much fun the Gators are having based on what they’re wearing. Florida has mixed it up a few times already this season when it comes to the team’s uniforms — including two occasions in which the Gators wore the all-orange look (East Carolina and Ole Miss).
And judging by this tweet from McElwain on Monday, the Gators might be unveiling a new helmet against the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday.
Twitter has gone wild with reactions to the tweet.
