Les Miles will receive a five-year contract as Kansas’ new coach, a source told Stadium.

Miles’ hiring as Kansas’ coach will be officially announced Sunday. With the hiring of Miles, Kansas becomes the first Division I school that has a current head football and basketball coach that has won a national title. Miles won the 2007 national title at LSU and KU basketball coach Bill Self won the national title in 2008.

Miles, 65, has not coached since 2016, when he was fired after four games. He tried to return to coaching in 2017 and 2018. This will be his second stint in the Big 12. He previously was coach at Oklahoma State before taking over at LSU.

In 15-plus seasons at OSU and LSU, Miles is 141-55.

Miles’ hiring at Kansas was first reported by Sports Illustrated.
