The Miami Hurricanes are selling T-shirts that pay tribute to the kick returned for a touchdown against the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday, and the play is now has its very own nickname.
The Miami Hurricanes are cashing in on one of the wildest plays of the season.
Saturday’s rollercoaster ride of college football games seemed to find a way to be captured with one game. Really, it was epitomized with just one play — specifically a kick return.
One week after firing Al Golden, the Hurricanes, under interim head coach Larry Scott, found a way to win in dramatic fashion on the Duke Blue Devils’ field.
With six seconds left on the clock following a touchdown by Duke, Miami turned in an eight-lateral kick return that culminated with a touchdown by junior defensive back Corn Elder.
Now, the play has a special spot in Miami’s history. It’s being referred to as “The RetUrn,” and the Hurricanes are selling t-shirts to commemorate the moment.

Sure, Duke might not agree, and the play probably shouldn’t have stood seeing that freshman running back Mark Walton’s knee was down. But that’s not stopping the Canes from using the marketing opportunity presented.
