Last week, we were in the zone, going 4-2 on Wednesday. This week? Let’s dial it back a bit, really pick our spots and get more wins than losses. There are fewer picks today, but the quality doesn’t drop with the quantity.

    Layups

Hornets ML (-125) @ Pacers: The Hornets have been quite bad in their past two games, largely because Gordon Hayward has been out due to a foot injury. And while Hayward is questionable as of this writing, the Hornets should be able to beat a very short-handed Pacers team without him. No Brogdon + no Turner + no Sabonis = no win. Shooting-wise, the Hornets have been terrible recently, but they should move toward the mean facing one of the NBA’s worst three-point defensive teams.

    Two-Pointers

Heat -6 vs. Knicks (-110): I’m sorry but I have to say it: The Heat have been hot. They’ve gotten almost everyone back from injury and are showing how dangerous they can really be. The Knicks? Not so much. They’ve only won one of their last five, and have REALLY struggled offensively, which is unfortunate for them given they are now facing a top-10 team in defensive efficiency. It’s certainly a high number, but the Heat have been so good as of late with their newfound health, making it a number that’s worth taking a risk on.

    Three-Pointers

Clippers-Magic Under 103.5 1H (-110): These are some of the worst first-half scoring teams in the league this season, with the Magic averaging a dismal 48 points in the first half, and the Clippers scoring 52. Plus, the Clips are coming off an insane game last night where they came back from 35 points down. I don’t know how much energy they’ll have to start this one out. We’ll bank on some early misses and a slower start in Orlando tonight.

Patty Mills over 14.5 points (-110): With Durant and Kyrie out, our boy Patty suddenly becomes the No. 2 scorer on the Nets after James Harden. I actually bet his over 14.5 last night and it hit by one despite a bad shooting night. The line indicates this should be a close game, so Patty should get plenty of opportunities to score. Let’s ride his points train again!
