The Nevada Wolf Pack will welcome the New Mexico Lobos to Mackay Stadium in the second Mountain West conference game of the season for both teams.
Nevada sits at 2-3 through five games after dropping a tough contest to in-state rival UNLV last week. Wolf Pack quarterback Tyler Stewart passed for 202 yards and a touchdown, while wide receiver Jerico Richardson set season-highs in receptions (six) and yards (87). On the defensive end, safety Dameon Barber notched his third interception in two games, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a slow start and Nevada had to hand the Fremont Cannon back to UNLV.
New Mexico also participated in an in-state rivalry game last week and came up victorious, knocking off New Mexico State, 38-29, to improve to 3-2 on the season. It is the first time since 2012 that the Lobos have won back-to-back games. Despite throwing for just 45 yards, quarterback Lamar Jordan shined for the second-straight week. Jordan led New Mexico in rushing again, scampering for 157 yards and a touchdown. Running backs Teriyon Gipson and Jhurell Pressley combined for 241 yards with two scores as the Lobos amassed 401 total yards on the ground.
The series between these two dates back 74 years, but the Wolf Pack and Lobos have only met five times (series is tied 2-2-1). New Mexico will be looking for revenge as Nevada has taken the last two meetings in 2011 and 2012.
Below is everything you need to know about the Nevada vs. New Mexico online live stream and game broadcast.
New head coach Tony Sanchez has UNLV playing with more confidence and enthusiasm in 2015. But Nevada has been in the Rebels’ heads over the past 10 years. And as long as the Pack can run the ball and consistently win at the line of scrimmage, the Fremont Cannon will remain in Reno.
