Full Programming Schedule & Events Announced

CHICAGO  – Stadium, the first 24/7 multi-platform sports network, officially announced today that “Pooh: The Derrick Rose Story” will premiere on Thursday, April 11 at 7 p.m. ET exclusively on Stadium and WatchStadium.com/Live. A production from Stadium Films in conjunction with DMR Enterprises, Cycle, and Wasserman, “Pooh: The Derrick Rose Story” will give a never before seen look at the meteoric rise of the young Chicago superstar that faced unimaginable hardship and fought to regain his identity as a person and athlete.

Derrick Rose, an executive producer of the film, became the youngest MVP in NBA history and a celebrated superstar for the Bulls in his hometown of Chicago. Rose’s gritty style on the court was forged by a childhood surrounded by gang violence and poverty in the Englewood neighborhood. His single-minded determination to save his family from a continued life of hardships led him to a win at all costs mentality on and off the court. Rose’s story is one of survival – through violence, poverty and injury – the one time heir to Michael Jordan’s iconic throne has never forgotten where he came from as he continues to search for his own inner peace.

“Pooh: The Derrick Rose Story” can be viewed on April 11 via WatchStadium.com/Live, Stadium over-the-air channels, The Roku Channel, Sling TV, Samsung TV Plus and many others.

“As Stadium continues to evolve, adding true original content is a key initiative for us and having the opportunity to tell Derrick’s story is something we’re taking very seriously,” said Stadium CEO Jason Coyle. “This story is more than just how one player captivated and then divided a city. The drive and motivation to keep fighting whether as a child in poverty or a former MVP after a 4th knee surgery is an inspirational story that fans will now have a chance to experience.”

In support of the “Pooh: The Derrick Rose Story” film premiere, Stadium will also produce and televise original studio programming surrounding the premiere of the film. “Countdown to The Derrick Rose Story” will debut as a thirty minute pre-show airing Thursday, 4/11 at 6:30 PM ET and “Inside The Derrick Rose Story” will debut as a one hour after-show premiering Thursday, 4/11 at 9:00 PM ET directly following the initial telecast of the film. Both shows will feature notable guests, interviews, commentary and discussion surrounding the film and career of Derrick Rose.

Also in lead up to the film premiere, Stadium will televise two games from Derrick’s high school career at Simeon High School in Chicago.  Thursday, 4/11 at 3:00 PM ET the 2005-2006 Illinois State 2A Championship: Simeon vs. Richwoods High School will be featured, followed by the 2006-2007 Illinois State 2A Championship: Simeon vs. O’Fallon High School on 4/11 at 4:30 PM ET.
