Thunder PG Russell Westbrook signed a five-year, $205 million contract extension with Oklahoma City.
After bringing in All-Stars Paul George and Carmelo Anthony, the Thunder have locked up Russell Westbrook to a historic contract.
By inking a $205 million extension on Friday, Westbrook will remain in Oklahoma City for another five years.
The deal makes Westbrook, the reigning MVP, the highest-paid player in NBA history, which is appropriate considering that the guard averaged a triple-double for OKC during the 2016-17 regular season.
While the massive contract is news in itself, the Twitterverse realized that Russ decided to sign the deal on Warriors forward Kevin Durant’s birthday, proving that the Association is never boring.
Today is Kevin Durant’s birthday. Russell Westbrook is perfect.

Coincidence that Russell Westbrook signed the biggest contract in NBA history on Kevin Durant’s birthday?
