Jordan Cornette’s Power 12 College Basketball Rankings, Week 11

Three Big 12 teams make up the top four of this week’s Power 12 College Basketball Rankings.

Oklahoma flexed its muscles and is now the No. 1 team.

West Virginia nearly knocked off the Sooners and recorded a big win over Kansas.

And the Jayhawks, despite the loss to the Mountaineers, are still one of the best teams in the nation.

Rounding out the top five is SMU. The Mustangs are a perfect 17-0 so far this season.

Week 11 Power 12 College Basketball Rankings

1) Oklahoma

Best player. Buddy Hield. Best Team. Sooners.

2) North Carolina

With Kennedy Meeks healthy, this team has yet another weapon.

3) West Virginia

Almost did the unthinkable this week by knocking off the No. 1 and 2 teams, but a last-second tip-in by Oklahoma ruined the party. Still, the Mountaineers put a win over former No. 1 Kansas on their resume. The Sooners force over 20 turnovers per game — that too is the unthinkable.

4) Kansas

These guys could still easily be No. 1. The Jayhawks looked terrible against West Virginia, but this is still Self’s best team he has ever had in Lawrence.

5) SMU

Nic Moore leads the way for the Mustangs. They are wildly athletic and beat up opponents on the backboards. It’s a shame we can’t enjoy this team in the postseason. They are poised for a deep run in March.

6) Villanova

Josh Hart is the unsung hero for these guys. He is the versatile, do-it-all piece that embodies what makes Jay Wright-coached teams so successful.

7) Xavier

With Edmond Sumner healthy, I expect these guys to climb higher in the rankings. They are neck and neck with Villanova for the gold standard in the Big East.

8) Iowa

These guys remind me of those successful Badgers teams that went to consecutive final fours. Laden with veterans, balanced on defense and offense, and led by a player of the year candidate in Jared Uthoff.

9) Maryland

Have not reached their full potential yet.

10) Clemson

I’m ALL IN after the week the Tigers had. But can they do it away from Greenville?

11) Texas A&M

Could this be the year the SEC is stolen away for BBN? Looks like it.

12) Miami

When the Hurricanes’ perimeter is on, they are as dangerous as anyone in the nation.
