The UConn Huskies traveled cross-country to take on the LMU Lions, looking for their first win of the season. After the Huskies missed a free throw, the Lions had a chance to tie it at the buzzer, but the shot was just off target. The Huskies won 65-62 to improve to 1-2 on the season.

UConn center Amida Brimah was huge against Loyola Marymount, getting a block on one end, then hustling down the court for the fast break slam dunk. Brimah finished with 9 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks in the 65-62 win over the Lions.
