Former Clemson defensive tackle Scott Pagano is a very popular man these days.

As soon as it was announced last Friday that the graduate transfer would be pursuing an opportunity to play elsewhere in 2017, he drew a ton of interest for his services. He reportedly had heard from over 30 programs since receiving his release. However, Pagano has started to narrow down his choices.

After being contacted by a variety of schools spread across the country, he’s now focusing on seven programs, according to Ryan Bartow of 247Sports. Arkansas, Cal, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon and Texas are in the running.

Only Cal and Oregon align with Dabo Swinney’s hint that he would likely head to the west side of the country.

“He indicated to me that he wants to start his graduate degree and play his final year of college football, probably on the West Coast,” Swinney stated.

Pagano plans to enroll in May and will have one year of eligibility remaining. Due to NCAA graduate transfer rules, he’ll be eligible to play as soon as he steps on campus.
