Week 5 SEC Football Picks And Spreads

    South Carolina at Missouri

    Date:
    Saturday, October 3

    Kickoff:
    12:00 p.m. ET

    Venue:
    Faurot Field

Missouri will be without quarterback Maty Mauk, who is suspended for violating team rules, but the Tigers are confident that Drew Lock can step in without missing a beat. Neither team has looked great this season. Mizzou will ride its defense and the home crowd to the win.

    Pick: Missouri

    Spread: Missouri -3.5

No. 13 Alabama at No. 8 Georgia

    Date:
    Saturday, October 3

    Kickoff:
     3:30 p.m. ET

    Venue:
     Sanford Stadium

Georgia is licking its chops for a chance to hand Alabama its second loss of the season, but that’s easier said than done. Alabama’s defense is going to put a wrench in Nick Chubb and the Dawgs rushing attack. The Crimson Tide get it done in Athens.

    Pick: Alabama

    Spread: Georgia -2

    San Jose State at Auburn

    Date:
    Saturday, October 3

    Kickoff:
     4:00 p.m. ET

    Venue:
     Jordan-Hare Stadium

Auburn will need to figure out things in a hurry if the Tigers hope to stop the losing streak. Sure, it’s San Jose State, but the Spartans can play some ball. It’s going to be a close one on the Plains.

    Pick: Auburn

    Spread: Auburn -20.5

    Arkansas at Tennessee

    Date:
    Saturday, October 3

    Kickoff:
     7:00 p.m. ET

    Venue:
     Neyland Stadium

Two grossly underachieving teams enter, yet only one can leave with a much-needed win. The Vols are coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Gators, while the Razorbacks have lost three in a row. Arkansas is going to get a heavy dose of pounding from Josh Dobbs, Jalen Hurd and the Vols rushing attack.

    Pick: Tennessee

    Spread: Tennessee -6.5

    Vanderbilt at Middle Tennessee

    Date:
    Saturday, October 3

    Kickoff:
     7:00 p.m. ET

    Venue:
     Johnny “Red” Floyd Stadium

Vanderbilt’s defense has been tough, but the offense has been struggling, averaging only 14 points per game against FBS opponents. Blue Raiders quarterback Brent Stockstill has been playing well, throwing for over 330 yards in every game but one: against Alabama. It’s going to be another tough one for the Commodores.

    Pick: Middle Tennessee

    Spread: Middle Tennessee -2

Eastern Michigan at No. 9 LSU

    Date:
    Saturday, October 3

    Kickoff:
     7:00 p.m. ET

    Venue:
     Tiger Stadium

Good luck, Eastern Michigan defense. It is now your turn to try and stop the running machine that is LSU’s Leonard Fournette. The sophomore Heisman candidate has rushed for over 200 yards in the past two games. Fournette looks like a man among boys at times.

    Pick: LSU

    Spread: LSU – 44.5

No. 3 Ole Miss at No. 25 Florida

    Date: Saturday, October 3

    Kickoff:
     7:00 p.m. ET

    Venue:
     Ben Hill Griffin Stadium

Ole Miss brings a balanced team into the Swamp as both the offense and defense has been solid so far this season. It’ll be strength vs. strength between the Rebels passing attack and Gators secondary. Will Grier will continue to develop, but Ole Miss finds a way to make more plays.

    Pick: Ole Miss

    Spread: Ole Miss -7.5

    Eastern Kentucky at Kentucky

    Date:
    Saturday, October 3

    Kickoff:
     7:30 p.m. ET

    Venue:
     Commonwealth Stadium

Kentucky is 3-1 and playing inspired football. The Wildcats will pull away in the end against home state Eastern Kentucky.

    Pick: Kentucky

    Spread: No line

No. 21 Mississippi State at No. 14 Texas A&M

    Date:
    Saturday, October 3

    Kickoff:
     7:30 p.m. ET

    Venue:
     Kyle Field

Texas A&M, led by quarterback Kyle Allen, is clicking. Mississippi State has given up only one passing touchdown this season, but that changes this weekend. The Aggies offense will be too much for Dak Prescott and the Bulldogs to hang with.

    Pick: Texas A&M

    Spread: Texas A&M -7
