SEC football rankings heading into Week 13 of the 2016 season. Florida secures a date with Alabama in the SEC championship game after beating LSU.

Florida and LSU were supposed to playing cupcakes this week like the majority of the other SEC teams. Instead, they waged an epic battle in Baton Rouge in their reschedule game.

The Gators are headed back to the SEC title game to face Alabama after making a goal-line stand to beat the Tigers, 16-10. Florida made the final stop on 4th and goal from the 1 as time expired. Its victory shook up the SEC rankings quite a bit as well.

Here’s a look at how the SEC teams rank heading into Week 13 of the season, now that the games have been decided.

Week 13 SEC Football Rankings

14. Missouri (Last Week – 13)

Missouri beat Vanderbilt for its first SEC win last week, then promptly got crushed this week by Tennessee, 63-37.

13. Vanderbilt (14)

Vandy ended a two-game skid with a big 38-17 win over Ole Miss. It ends the season against Tennessee next week.

12.  Mississippi State (12)

The Bulldogs have lost back-to-back games following a 58-42 loss to Arkansas this week. That puts Mississippi State out of bowl contention.

11. South Carolina (11)

The Gamecocks were in a fight with Western Carolina for the entire game Saturday, finally pulling out a 44-31 win. .

10. Ole Miss (9)

No Chad Kelly for the Rebels, who lost to lowly Vanderbilt with freshman Shea Patterson under center for the second straight week. It needs to beat Mississippi State next week to become bowl-eligible.

9. Kentucky (10)

Kentucky took advantage of the SEC’s week of facing FCS teams, beating up on Austin Peay, 49-13.

8. Georgia (8)

Georgia beat Louisiana-Lafayette, 35-21, for its third straight victory and got to seven wins on the season.

7. Tennessee (7)

The Vols have put their three-game losing streak behind them by winning their last three. They picked up their eighth win after crushing Missouri.

6. Arkansas (5)

Big win for the Hogs over Mississippi State. No one can say Arkansas hasn’t been consistent, as it has alternated wins and losses since its 3-0 start.

5. Texas A&M (3)

It wasn’t until 6 1/2 minutes into the fourth quarter that the Aggies were able to put away UTSA. They came away with an unimpressive 23-10 win.

4. LSU (2)

Does the loss to the Gators hurt Ed Orgeron’s chances of having his interim tag removed? The Tigers had four chances from inside the 5-yard line to score a touchdown and couldn’t convert. Ouch.

3. Florida (6)

Let’s be perfectly clear – Florida is not going to beat Alabama in the SEC title game. It won a weak East division and still isn’t doing much offensively, aside from the 98-yard touchdown pass against the Tigers.

2. Auburn (3)

Auburn shook off its loss to Georgia by beating Alabama A&M. Next up is the Iron Bowl, a game that would’ve had a lot more intrigue had the Tigers not lost to the Bulldogs.

1. Alabama (1)

The Crimson Tide’s warmup for Auburn was Chattanooga, which hung tough for most of the first half. Alabama will be much better from the opening kickoff next week against Auburn.
