Toledo and Florida International are headed to the Bahamas Bowl on Dec. 21, sources told Stadium.

The Rockets (7-5) finished tied for second in the MAC’s West Division, while the Panthers (8-4) tied for second in Conference USA’s East Division.

This will be the fourth meeting between the teams and first since FIU defeated Toledo in the 2010 Little Caesar’s Bowl in Detroit.

Toledo will be making its fifth consecutive bowl trip and third straight under coach Jason Candle, who is 27-12 at Toledo.

For FIU, this marks the second consecutive bowl trip for the Golden Panthers under second-year coach Butch Davis. In Davis’ two seasons at FIU, the Golden Panthers are 16-9, the best two-year record in program history.

The Bahamas Bowl matchup is the first official bowl pairing. Hawaii has clinched a berth to the Hawaii Bowl, although it hasn’t been officially announced.

The remaining bowl bids will be announced on Dec. 2.
