Charania Also Named “Insider of the Year” by The Big Lead

 CHICAGO  – Stadium, the first 24/7 multi-platform sports network, a part of the Sinclair Broadcast Group portfolio of sports properties, today announced Shams Charania has been recognized as one of 30 groundbreaking young entrepreneurs  on Forbes ‘30 Under 30’ list for 2021. At just 26-years-old, Charania has already established a reputation as an elite, well-respected news-breaker within the National Basketball Association (NBA).  Charania was also named “Insider of the Year” by sports media outlet The Big Lead, giving him two prestigious accolades to close out the year. 

Since joining Stadium in 2018, Charania has been an integral part of Stadium’s core programming lineup. Just this November, Charania headlined Stadium’s NBA Draft Special which generated over one million views on Twitter. Over the last year, Charania has seen his Twitter following increase 67% and boasts one of the highest engagement rates by any user on Twitter. The Chicago native has received an enormous amount of attention in 2020 including appearances on CNN, NBC, CNBC, TNT, Fox Sports and a host of other high-profile interviews.

In addition to his work at Stadium Charania works as a writer at The Athletic. Finding early success, Charania began his professional career at age 17 and was hired by Yahoo Sports at age 21. Charania graduated from Loyola University in Chicago with a Bachelor of Communications degree in 2017.
