Less than two weeks until Selection Sunday and the bracket is in more flux than it has been in some time. Let’s take a look at some of the big changes.

The teams on the top three lines remained the same, but with a bit of shuffling on the two-line with Michigan State’s loss to Indiana and Tennessee’s win over Kentucky. The Wildcats barely hang on to the one-seed over UNC and Tennessee. Michigan State edges out Michigan for the last two spots on the two-line. Houston drops to the last three-seed after their loss to UCF.

With Nevada’s loss to Utah State, the Wolf Pack drop to a five-seed. That leaves a spot open on the four-line, but no one seemed to want to take it. Eventually, Florida State received the last four-seed. The Seminoles have won 10 of 11.

On the bottom of the bracket, Seton Hall dropped out of the field with another loss. Even though Clemson lost a close one to North Carolina, the Tigers resume improved enough to move them into the field. Creighton and Indiana moved back into consideration with big wins. The Bluejays upset Marquette on the road, giving them a quality win, and moved them to the top of the “next four out” list. Indiana added another quality win to their resume by beating Michigan State for the second time. The Hoosiers are now in the “first four out” list.

A note about the automatic bids. In each conference the team currently leading the league standings was given the automatic bid. Ties were broken using NET (NCAA Evaluation Tool), giving the auto bid to the team with the highest NET ranking. Beginning next Monday (March 11th), the winner of the conference tournament or the highest seed remaining in the conference tournament will get the automatic bid.
