Here’s the thing – four-loss Auburn playing in the Sugar Bowl is a joke. I’m sorry, but give me a break. Apologists will say the Tigers lost to a pair of College Football Playoff teams. Fine. But the other two are against very average Texas A&M and Georgia teams. The fact is that schools with four losses don’t deserve to be playing in major bowl games and I’m not going to back off of that. I hope Baker Mayfield throws for 860 yards and 12 touchdowns, 10 of them to Dede Westbrook.

I actually think that Auburn can, and will, take this game. It should serve as a nice resume-builder for Carl Lawson, who will plant a flag in the backfield.

This will actually be one of the better games of Bowl Season, given that Oklahoma is rather underrated (most memories move to the Sooners’ two early-season losses) and Auburn, when healthy, can play with anyone. Factor in that Baker Mayfield and Kam Pettway could be at next year’s Heisman ceremony, and this will be fun. Auburn wins a high-scoring affair.

I think this game could go well over the 63-point over/under that’s set right now. The Auburn offense really came alive in the middle of the season, but the Sooners can fill up the scoreboard in a hurry. Baker Mayfield will take over this game and find his buddy Dede Westbrook for a few big plays. Oklahoma wins a shootout with the Tigers.

With quarterback Sean White back healthy along with running back Kam Pettway, the Tigers are at full strength on offense, something that they couldn’t say for the last third of the season. Pettway is a difference maker, but so are Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield and Dede Westbrook. I’m torn on this one, especially with Auburn being healthy, but I’m sticking with Oklahoma to win a close one.
