1. TCU got a fight, but it scored 14 points in each quarter with Trevone Boykin throwing five touchdown passes and running for another. The Horned Frogs got up 42-17 in the third after Boykin found Dominic Merka for a 19-yard touchdown pass, but SMU roared back with 20 straight points to pull within five late on two Matt Davis touchdown runs and two Chad Hedlund field goals.

2. TCU squashed the threat with a 42-yard Josh Doctson touchdown catch and a one-yard Aaron Green run, but it was a battle to the end. The two teams combined for 1,228 yards of total offense.
