1. Tennessee cranked out 31 second quarter points with Jalen Hurd scoring twice and Alvin Kamara running for a two-yard score on the way to a 34-3 lead. Western Carolina came up with a 32-yard field goal, but Evan Berry – Eric’s brother – responded with an 88-yard kickoff return for a score.
2. Kamara added a 50-yard punt return for a score in the third quarter, and Preston Williams made his second of two touchdown catches with a 24-yard catch for a 55-3 lead.
3. Western Carolina finally got into the end zone on a 64-yard Detrez Newsome run.
– Joshua Dobbs completed 15-of-21 passes for 144 yards and two scores.
– Jalen Hurd ran 11 times for 68 yards and a touchdown.
– Preston Williams caught three passes for 98 yards and two touchdowns.
