Texans-Chiefs Divisional Round Matchup: Date, Time, How to Watch

The Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs will meet at Arrowhead Stadium for a high-powered AFC Divisional Round battle on Sunday, Jan. 12 at 3:05 PM ET on CBS.

Expect for Houston to run the football, as the Texans rushed for 192 yards when the two teams met earlier in October. While Houston pulled out an impressive 31-24 road win in that game, Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes was less than 100% for most of the matchup as he battled through an ankle injury.

But Mahomes’ health shouldn’t be an issue Sunday with the Chiefs being able to enjoy an extra week of rest and preparation thanks to their bye. Keep in mind that Kansas City head coach Andy Reid is 18-3 in the regular season after a bye and 4-1 in the Divisional Round coming off a week of rest.

This is the second all-time postseason matchup between the two clubs, and it should be more entertaining than the Chiefs’ shutout victory in the 2015 AFC Wild Card Round. In that 30-0 whooping, Kansas City took the opening kickoff to the house and never looked back.

Sunday’s winner will advance to play either the Tennessee Titans or Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game.
