Texas A&M Sends Touching Gesture To Texas After BEVO’s Passing

Texas A&M set its hated rivalry with Texas to the side for a moment and sent the Longhorns a touching gesture after news of BEVO's passing.

Texas-Texas A&M is one of the nation’s most fiercest rivalries. The hate between the two universities and fan bases runs deep, but so too does the level of respect.

Shortly after news broke on Friday that BEVO XIV had passed away peacefully in his sleep, the Aggies laid down their swords and sent condolences to the Longhorns.

The university posted the following photo and message on Facebook in honor of the legendary mascot.

“Sending condolences to The University of Texas at Austin today on the passing of Bevo XIV. There’s something truly special about the service mascots give to their beloved universities.”

BEVO was diagnosed with Bovine Leukemia Virus recently. He spent his last few days retired and enjoying a win over another rival, the Oklahoma Sooners.

Twitter also took time to say goodbye to the legendary mascot.
