Auburn transfer Tim Irvin is reportedly favoring East Carolina as his next destination. Irvin played one year for the Tigers.

Rising sophomore defensive back Tim Irvin is favoring East Carolina as he looks to transfer.

After playing a year at Auburn, Tim Irvin reportedly has a new leader for where he’ll spend the remainder of his college career.

Per 247Sports, the Pirates are the “heavy leader” for Irvin’s services. Irvin’s uncle, Sedrick, is an offensive analyst for East Carolina. If he were to choose to attend, Irvin would enroll in August.

The 5-foot-9, 195 pound safety played in 10 games as a freshman for the Tigers in 2015, making 18 tackles. Will Muschamp and Travaris Robinson, who both left following the season for South Carolina, recruited him to Auburn.

Irvin, a four-star recruit from Miami, Florida, announced that he was transferring back in May.

“I want to thank Auburn University for the time I was here and I appreciate the coaches and the fans,” Irvin wrote. “It was a great journey but it will be better for me to pursue my career elsewhere.”
