Tulsa was demolished, 48-3, last week by Ohio State, but don’t let that fool you: the Golden Hurricane are still talented, as evidence by their 45-10 season opening win against San Jose State. Quarterback Dane Evans had a rough day against the Buckeyes, throwing four interceptions, but will try and get back on track against the Aggies.

North Carolina A&T used three quarterbacks in a win at Kent State last week, but it was running back Tarik Cohen who starred as he rushed for 133 yards on 24 carries and a touchdown. The Aggies are 2-0 and looking for another upset.

    What To Know About Tulsa

Scratch out what Tulsa did against Ohio State: a lot of teams are going to get blown out by them. While Evans definitely needs to play better, the rushing attack led by D’Angelo Brewer is feisty. Brewer rushed for 164 yards and three touchdowns against San Jose State, with James Flanders adding 82 more.

The Golden Hurricane defense was steady in the opener as well, holding the Spartans to 53 yards rushing and 287 total yards. They will face the uncertainty of which quarterback will be in for the Aggies. Linebacker Trent Martin can be a difference maker for the Golden Hurricane.

What to Know About North Carolina A&T

The best performance from the three quarterbacks last game was by Oluwafemi Bamiro, who completed 7-for-14 passes for 95 yards and two touchdowns. Cohen is the man they look to when it comes to moving the chains. The 5’6 running back appears out of the middle of nowhere behind the offensive line for tacklers and is extremely hard to find.

Linebacker Jeremy Taylor has been solid for the A&T defense, recording 21 tackles in the first two games combined. Stopping Brewer will be focus No. 1 for this defense.

    Advantages

Offense: Tulsa. Brewer could have his way with the Aggies.

Defense: Tulsa. The Golden Hurricane aren’t known for their defense, but it was solid against San Jose State.

Special Teams: Tulsa. Kicker Redford Jones is 6-for-6 in extra points and 2-for-2 on field goals for the season.

Coaching: Tulsa. Philip Montgomery is the next coach looking to use Tulsa as a stepping stool to a bigger job.

Intangibles: Tulsa. They were embarrassed by Ohio State and will be an angry bunch.

Tulsa vs. North Carolina A&T Prediction

After starting out well on the season, Tulsa tumbled last week in Columbus. They will put that behind them quickly. Brewer will have a great day rushing the ball, Evans will get cranking again in the pass game, and the Golden Hurricane will come away with a easy win over the Aggies.
