The UConn Huskies have made it to the NCAA Tournament. Here’s a preview of the team and a prediction of how they’ll do during March Madness.
Team: UConn Huskies
Record: 24-10
Conference: American Athletic Conference
Head coach: Kevin Ollie
How they got here: Won conference tournament
UConn limps into the NCAA Tournament after closing the regular season on a bit of a shaky note, but you can never count out the Huskies in March. There is nice balance in the starting lineup with four guys averaging in double figures, led by Shonn Miller, and it is his size inside that makes an impact. Daniel Hamilton is a quality rebounder, and his vision makes him one of the most versatile players in the tourney.
The Huskies struggle mightily offensively at times, and they are lacking a player who can take over the game with the ball in his hands. Another issue is you really never know which UConn team you’re going to get, and this team’s inability to find consistency has been a problem all year.
C’mon. You can’t really count out the Huskies in the NCAA Tournament, can you? Few teams are more dangerous in March, and UConn is a bit of a sleeper considering that it finished the season slow. Still, this is a team behind some of its predecessors, and the second round might be this team’s ceiling.
