    Why You Need To Care

UConn is coming off its best game of 2015, routing East Carolina Friday night on national TV. Now, the Huskies have a chance to reach .500 this late in a season for the first time since 2010. This is a must-win for Bob Diaco’s kids if they have any hope of becoming bowl eligible this year. Barring a miracle finish, Tulane will miss the postseason for the second straight year. The Green Wave has dropped four straight, all by at least 17 points.

    Why UConn Will Win

The Huskies have momentum after defeating a pretty good ECU team, 31-13. RB Arkeel Newsome is providing a spark on the ground, while the defense allows just 21 points per game and has more interceptions than touchdown passes allowed. Interior linemen Julian Campenni and Foley Fatukasi will cause fits for a flimsy Tulane O-line.

    Why Tulane Will Win

UConn has had problems scoring points and extending drives all season long. The Huskies are No. 10 in American scoring at 20 points per game, so the Green Wave won’t need to explode to keep things competitive. Fingers are crossed that Tulane’s quarterbacks will be healthy enough to join Dontrell Hilliard in the backfield this weekend.

    Player Who Matters

If walk-on Jordy Joseph gets the start again behind center, Tulane will be in huge trouble against this Connecticut D. Joseph was just 10-of-24 for 131 yards against Memphis last week, and the Huskies have been ball-hawks all year, led by SS Andrew Adams and corners Jhavon Williams and Jamar Summers.

    What’s Going To Happen?

Connecticut turned the corner a week ago and will continue to do so this weekend in New Orleans. With Newsome anchoring the offense and the defense manhandling the dinged-up and undermanned Green Wave quarterbacks, the Huskies are poised to reach .500 with a critical road win.
