Virginia vs. Butler picks for the NCAA Tournament’s second round game.
Virginia had a little bit of a scare in its opening-round matchup against the Hampton Pirates. Well, it was more of a sideline scare than one on the court. Channeling his ACC brother-in-arms Roy Williams, Cavaliers head coach Tony Bennett had a sudden rush of blood to the head and blacked out while coaching in the first half. Bennett was okay and returned for the second half, but it was still a startling moment.
Butler kept Texas Tech at arm’s-length for the majority of the game, never really sweating too much against a Red Raiders team that limped into the NCAA Tournament. This second-round contest will boast two disciplined teams matching wits. It may not be the kind of up-and-down game that television producers dream of, but these are two skilled teams who’ll go blow for blow.
