Here’s The Deal: And the beat goes on in Tallahassee. Another week, another comeback victory for Florida State. The Seminoles rallied to knock off rival Miami, extending their winning streak to 26 games and remaining in the thick of the playoff chase. The formula for the defending champs is rudimentary; just keep dodging bullets in upcoming games with BC, Florida and the Coastal Division champ, and a spot in a semifinal game is assured. The Eagles are in the postseason for a second-straight year under Steve Addazio, impressive considering how much talent the program lost to graduation. Boston College, which would love to dispatch a statement to bowl committees, has had two weeks to stew over being ambushed at home by Louisville on Nov. 8.

Why Boston College Might Win: The Eagles are one of the toughest and soundest teams in the ACC, the product of Addazio and his staff. They’ve yet to lose a road game in 2014, and they will not be unnerved by the venue or the opponent. Boston College can keep Jameis Winston off the field by controlling the clock with the nation’s No. 12 running game, a relentless ground-and-pound attack. And senior QB Tyler Murphy, a former Gator, will bring poise and stability to the BC huddle and locker room.

Why Florida State Might Win: Beyond the obvious talent gap and difficulty of winning in Tallahassee, Boston College doesn’t match well on defense with the Noles. Florida State puts a lot of its weight on Winston’s arm, and the Eagles have been soft in coverage the past month. The quarterback’s targets continue to blossom around WR Rashad Greene and TE Nick O’Leary, as young Travis Rudolph and Jesus Wilson accept expanded roles. On defense, FSU knows it can stack the box, without suffering the consequences at the hands of the nation’s 122nd-ranked passing game.

Who To Watch Out For: When the Seminoles rebuild their O-line in 2015, true freshman Roderick Johnson will be one of the young cornerstones of the future. The in-season maturation of the 6-7, 330-pound man-child has allowed Cameron Erving to shift from left tackle to center, a trouble spot ever since Austin Barron was injured. With Erving inside and Johnson at left tackle, FSU believes it has its best combination all year up front.

What’s Going To Happen: It’s the 2014 edition of Florida State, so a slow start is pretty much a given, especially with rival Miami in the rear view mirror and rival Florida up next. Plus, Addazio will have his kids ready to compete, and Murphy is a compelling wild card. However, the Noles own the secret sauce for in-game rallies. They’ll get cranking in the second quarter, eventually wearing down a BC team that’s one-dimensional on offense and overmatched in the secondary.
