    And You Care Because … Army’s Daniel Grochowski had a chance to win the game in regulation, but missed a 42-yard field goal, and he missed a 25-yard field goal in overtime to leave the door open. Yale came through as Tyler Varga ran for his fifth touchdown on a three-yard dash for the win. The two teams combined for 701 rushing yards, but Yale also got the passing game going with Morgan Roberts throwing for 290 yards with a 22-yard touchdown pass to Ross Drwal late in the third. Down 14, the Bulldogs got the Drwal touchdown catch, and tied it up on an 18-yard Varga run with 21 seconds in the quarter. Army answered with a one-yard Angel Santiago run – his second score of the day – for a seven-point lead, but Varga’s ten-yard rushing score with 1:42 to play put the game into overtime. 
    What Else? Yale RB Tyler Varga ran 28 times for 185 yards and five touchdowns 
    – Army QB Angel Santiago completed 6-of-8 passes for 117 yards, and ran eight times for 88 yards and two touchdowns, and A.J. Schurr completed 6-of-12 passes for 94 yards and a touchdown and ran 15 times for 135 yards and a touchdown
    – Yale QB Morgan Roberts completed 23-of-40 passes for 290 yards and a score with a pick, and he ran 12 times for 67 yards and a touchdown
    – Total yards: Yale 625 – Army 597.

    Sept. 27 WKU 36, at Navy 27 
    And You Care Because … WKU was up two late helped by a run of 16 straight second half points with a 31-yard Jared Dangerfield touchdown catch, Garrett Schwettman’s third field goal, and a one-yard run from Brandon Doughty, but Navy roared back with a two-yard Keenan Reynolds touchdown run to pull within two. The conversion failed, but Reynolds and the offense had one final shot. WKU’s Wonderful Terry put an end to the fun with a 43-yard pick six in the final minute. Reynolds ran for two touchdowns, but he had a horrific game throwing the ball, while Doughty threw 54 times and finished with two touchdown passes. 
    What Else? Navy QB Keenan Reynolds completed 3-of-14 passes for 55 yards and a pick, and ran 24 times for 121 yards and two touchdowns 
    – WKU QB Brandon Doughty completed 38-of-54 passes for 387 yards and two touchdowns with a pick and a rushing score
    – Navy rushing yards: 412 – WKU total yards 551 
    – Third down conversions: WKU 7-of-15 – Navy 2-of-11

    Sept. 27 Notre Dame 31, Syracuse 15 in NJ 
    And You Care Because … Everett Golson hit Will Fuller on touchdown passes from 23 and 72 yards out, and found Corey Robinson on an eight-yard touchdown pass on the way to a 21-3 lead. He also found Torrii Hunter Jr. on a 13-yard scoring play as he completed a record 25 straight passes, but he was picked off for a touchdown late by SU’s Durrell Eskridge. Syracuse’s offense could only manage a seven-yard Terrell Hunt touchdown run and a 38-yard Cole Murphy field goal. 
    What Else? Notre Dame QB Everett Golson completed 32-of-39 passes for 362 yards and four scores with two picks, and he ran ten times for 21 yards. 
    – Syracuse QB Terrel Hunt completed 22-of-38 passes for 294 yards with a pick, and ran seven times for 26 yards and a score
    – Penalties: Syracuse 10 for 85 yards – Notre Dame 8 for 80 yards 
    – Notre Dame WR Will Fuller caught six passes for 119 yards and two scores
