    Sept. 25 at Oklahoma State 45, Texas Tech 35 
    And You Care Because … In a wild game with more than 1,000 yards of total offense, Oklahoma State got four touchdown passes and a scoring run from Daxx Garman including a 47-yard play to Blake Jarwin early in the third and a 50-yard play to Tyreek Hill to put the Cowboys up 14 in the third – James Washington caught touchdown passes from 33 and 39 yards away. Texas Tech kept pushing with four touchdown passes from Davis Webb including two to Reginald Davis to open up the scoring with a 21-yarder to open up the scoring and a 22-yarder to pull within seven in the third after the Hill play. The Cowboys put the game just out of reach answering with ten straight points, but with Webb out with an apparent shoulder injury, Patrick Mahomes tried to rally the Red Raiders back with a four-yard touchdown throw to Jakeem Grant. However, a wild play from Mahomes leading to a late pick sealed the win for OSU. 
    What Else? Oklahoma State QB Daxx Garman completed 17-of-31 passes for 370 yards and four touchdowns with two picks, and ran seven times for 27 yards and a touchdown. 
    – Before getting hurt, Texas Tech QB Davis Webb completed 35-of-54 passes for 374 yards and four scores with two picks. Jakeem Grant caught 12 passes for 100 yards and a score. 
    – Oklahoma State WR Marcell Ateman caught six passes for 130 yards 
    – Oklahoma State DE Jimmy Bean made eight tackles with two sacks and two forced fumbles. Texas Tech LB Pete Robertson led the team with eight tackles with two sacks

    Sept. 27 Baylor 49, at Iowa State 28 
    And You Care Because … Bryce Petty only threw one touchdown pass, but he ran for two touchdowns and Shock Linwood ran for three more as Baylor pulled out to a 35-7 lead and cruised. Iowa State kept battling with Sam B. Richardson taking off for a 47-yard touchdown early in the second half and Aaron Wimberly running for a one-yard score to pull within 21, but Petty answered back with a ten play drive finishing with a one-yard scoring run. 
    What Else? Total yards: Baylor 601 – Iowa State 339 
    – Baylor QB Bryce Petty completed 30-of-44 passes for 336 yards and a score with a pick, and he ran nine times for 47 yards and two touchdowns. 
    – Iowa State QB Sam Richardson completed 17-of-39 passes for 212 yards and two scores with a pick, and ran 14 times for 99 yards and a touchdown 
    – Baylor WR Corey Coleman caught 12 passes for 154 yards and a score, and Antwan Goodley caught six passes for 114 yards

    Sept. 27 at Kansas State 58, UTEP 28 
    And You Care Because … Kansas State cranked out a 31-0 halftime lead and cruised from there with Charles Jones running for two short scores and Tyler Lockett taking a punt 58 yards for a touchdown. Jones added a third touchdown run in the second half as KSU got up 45-0, and was up 52-7 on a 40-yard DeMarcus Robinson scoring dash. Jameill Showers threw four touchdown passes in the second half for the Miners, but they never threatened. 
    What Else? Kansas State QB Jake Waters completed 10-of-15 passes for 209 yards and a score, and ran four times for 29 yards and a touchdown 
    – UTEP QB Jameill Showers completed 18-of-28 passes for 201 yards and four scores
    – Kansas State RB Charles Jones ran 12 times for 76 yards and three scores, and DeMarcus Robinson ran four times for 29 yards and a touchdown
    – UTEP WR Ian Hamilton caught five passes for 112 yards and two scores

    Sept. 27 Texas 23, at Kansas 0 
    And You Care Because … The Texas defense came up with four takeaways and the offense got two touchdown passes and a seven-yard scoring run from Tyrone Swoopes. M.J. McFarland scored from one-yard out in the first, and John Harris put the game away on a 16-yard catch in the fourth. Kansas managed 313 yards of offense, having problems with Duke Thomas, who came up with two interceptions and a late broken up pass in the end zone.
    What Else? Texas QB Tyrone Swoopes completed 19-of-34 passes for 218 yards and two scores, and ran for seven yards and a touchdown 
    – Kansas QB Montell Cozart completed 12-of-31 passes for 140 yards and four picks 
    – Texas WR John Harris caught six passes for 89 yards and a score 
    – Kansas RB De’Andre Mann ran 17 times for 83 yards

    Sept. 27 TCU 56, at SMU 0 
    And You Care Because … TCU QB Trevone Boykin threw four touchdown passes and ran for two more, finding Deante Gray for scoring plays of 28 and seven yards out and taking off for a 27-yard score and an eight-yard touchdown. SMU turned it over three times and was outgained 614 yards to 245. 
    What Else? TCU QB Trevone Boykin completed 23-of-36 passes for 280 yards and four scores, and ran seven times for 62 yards and two touchdowns 
    – SMU QB Garrett Krstich completed 14-of-30 passes for 142 yards and a pick
    – Rushing yards: TCU 265 – SMU 89 
    – TCU RB B.J. Catalon ran 19 times for 114 yards and a score
