After 10 straight weeks of football, the Hilltoppers will greatly benefit from finally being on a break last week. Their diverse, Brandon Doughty-led offense is the most potent in the conference, a troubling reality for a Florida International squad that was blanked last Saturday by Marshall, 52-0.
The Panthers have been a dramatically different team at home, winning all four contests by an average score of 45-17. Despite what happened last week in Huntington, this remains a dangerous team with an attacking front seven and a quality young quarterback, Alex McGough.
Western Kentucky knows its showdown with Marshall is up ahead. Florida International needs a win Saturday to become bowl eligible. This is a very tricky spot for the Hilltoppers. They’ll survive to remain unbeaten in conference play, but not before being tested deep into the second half by a motivated bunch of Panthers.
Final Score: Western Kentucky 38, Florida International 28, Line: Western Kentucky -16.5, o/u: 65.5
