Reunited, And It Feels So Good – New Texas head coach Tom Herman decided to not retain any of the staff left from the Charlie Strong era, instead choosing to compile his own collection of coaches. It didn’t take long for him to hire a wide receivers coach in Rutgers offensive coordinator Drew Mehringer, who had previously worked for Herman at Houston.
Try Some Skyline Chili, Coach – Cincinnati hired Ohio State defensive coordinator Luke Fickell to become its new head coach after former head coach Tommy Tuberville resigned last week. This will be the 43-year-old Fickell’s first permanent head coaching stint – he served as an interim head coach with the Buckeyes in the transitory year between Jim Tressel and Urban Meyer.

The two student-athletes did not suffer any life-threatening injuries.
