For most of my adult life, I have lived in apartment building where the laundry facility is either located somewhere central in the building or there is a room on each floor with a few washers and dryers. I envy those who have that stuff inside their own apartments. I feel like I would be right on top of having clean clothes, but let’s be honest: I would probably still let it pile up like I do now.

In college football news, Alabama running back Bo Scarbrough is recovering well from his broken leg, Penn State landed 3-star cornerback Trent Gordon, and we give you the top returning running backs from the Group of Five and Independents. Here are some other newsworthy notes in the latest college football news roundup.

Razorbacks Speaking Out – With a law pending in Arkansas that would allow fans with concealed carry permits to bring in guns into Razorback Stadium, Arkansas players are speaking out about how uneasy this situation makes them.

“Obviously it makes us kind of uncomfortable, but there’s nothing I can do about it,” Rawleigh Williams III, the Razorbacks star running back, said. “I can just pray about it and hope they make the right decision at the end. I hope so (they’ll do the right thing). Those guys get paid money to do that. I believe that they’ll make the right decision in the end.”

Horton Effect – Auburn running backs coach Tim Horton has had some great running backs during his time with the Tigers, but he is still trying to do something that no coach in the program’s history has done: have two 1,200-yard rushers in the same season.

According to Horton, if it weren’t for injuries to Kerryon Johnson, it would have happened last season, as Johnson would’ve joined Kam Pettway, who rushed for 1,224 yards.

“You look at it, he [Johnson] gained a little over 900 yards last year and he missed bulks of games,” Horton said. “If he would have stayed healthy I think you’re looking at two 1,200-yard rushers last year. He just got banged up and hurt.”

Legend Passes Away – The name Ken Sparks might not pop to a lot of college football fans’ minds, but only four coaches – John Gagliardi, Joe Paterno, Eddie Robinson, and Bobby Bowden – have more wins in their career than the former Carson-Newman coach. During his 37 years of coaching – all with the Eagles -Sparks went 338-99-2.

Sparks passed away on Wednesday at the age of 73.
