A Florida Gators football recruiting update for the week of October 2, 2016. Jim McElwain’s team will have some important visitors for the LSU game this weekend.
Jim McElwain’s Gators may have gone through some ups and downs in the past two weeks after a loss to rival Tennessee and a narrow victory over Vanderbilt, but this weekend’s game against LSU will be big for recruiting purposes.
Florida is set to host 4-star prospect Donovan Peoples-Jones, the nation’s No. 4 wide receiver and No. 34 overall player, for an official visit. The Detroit native is still projected to end up with Michigan, but the Gators can certainly make it close with a great visit this weekend.
In addition to Peoples-Jones, Florida will host 4-star cornerback Elijah Blades, who committed to the Gators in June. He was supposed to visit with his close friend, 2018 4-star cornerback Bookie Radley-Hiles, who will now target Nov. 12 for a visit to The Swamp when Florida hosts South Carolina.
Four-star defensive end LaBryan Ray and 4-star outside linebacker Markquese Bell will also be on campus.
